Tallinn Fashion Week 2016: Review
I’m so in love with all the things what comes with fashion – photo shoots, press events, fashion shows, especially if I can join the fashion week. Last autumn I was in India that time when we had Tallinn Fashion Week 2015 (TFW) and this spring I was so busy with organizing our wedding, so I only made it to the shows on last Thursday evening. After the last show we made it to the last ferry to Saaremaa and I had full weekend with wedding meetings and just a little time with my family to celebrate Easters. I enjoyed TFW anyway because the place was so much better than previous year’s and it all looked so professional. Front row seats for the press and bloggers, local newspaper’s photo walls together with beautiful people made it enjoyable and fun. Read my review below and see what I think about the shows!
I can honestly say that the first show by ALTHEA by Thea Pilvet was such a nice surprise for me. I did not expect anything new from that brand because I have known it since my childhood. ALTHEA brand by my eyes has always been addressed to the older customer but I have grown up and now they have changed their customer profile. I can really say that they had quite many outfits what I would buy right away and for that I would give 10 points to the stylist for mixing dresses with trousers and using see-through stockings.
Denim Dream show was already yesterday’s news for me because I was invited to their store opening few weeks ago and it’s exactly the same show like it’s few weeks ago, even they used the dancers again. The first part of their Favourites Collection was really girly flowery summer collection with a touch of grace and colors, but I liked more the second part of the collection by Svetlana Puzorjova. It had more personality in outfits and I even found and outfit for myself – blue co-ord set for the upcoming summer season.
I have always loved Piret Ilves‘s minimalism and again we had an opportunity to enjoy her timeless fashion – straight cuts and pure colour choices with cute bow-tie details has always won many hearts to her fashion world and I think she did win over with her show many more.
You know my passion for Iris Janvier fashion house, but they totally blew my mind with the most awesome show of the day. What a video in the beginning and bravo to the directors of the show – music, runway walk and styling was top notch. If I loved their clothes before then now I’m a true fan and kind of obsessed with the fashion of Iris Janvier. Super job, girls! <3
Last but not least, Liina Stein showed us her Evening gown collection together with Bridal collection. I’m not the type who would wear her dresses but by screams and applauses from the crowd women across the Estonia really love her fashion and that’s what matter the most!
Unfortunately, I only made it to the first-day shows and I’m so sad that I had to miss Katrin Aasmaa Estonian mythology-inspired show on the second day. I heard that the show was so awesome and on the photos and Snapchat videos, I dreamed myself in the show.
Until the autumn TFW’16,
