My day with Coco

with Coco-26

Many of you may already know that we took a puppy – a little Siberian husky girl, who we named Coco. She is such a beautiful husky puppy and I even made her a separate Instagram account (if you would like to follow her daily updates, then click here). If you are thinking that why do we named her Coco, then if you guess that she is named after biggest fashion icon Coco Chanel, you are absolutely right! I’m still a fashionista and Prada didn’t feel like a proper name for her (it’s my first option because her full name is Paradise Apple).

Most of my days are passing by walking with her (~3h/per day), teaching her manners and new tricks, and if she is not sleeping, then she is eating or pooping. We also joined the puppy school a few weeks ago and I must say that she is super good learner because she is such a food driven dog. Who doesn’t like yummy snacks?! I also try to take her every day to the dogs’ playground where she can run without the leash and socialize with other dogs and puppies. If you are living in Tallinn, then contact me and let’s meet at the Mustamäe dogs playground!

Some of you already wanted to know that in which kennel she comes from and I thought that I can add here some facts about her as well. She is actually from Russia, kennel named Coldfire. I was so happy when I found this little one. She is now 5 months old and she will be not the biggest husky. My forever wish was that I would love to have a chocolate coat Ppoomsky (husky mixed pomeranian breed) but I think she is even more perfect than I ever wished, even though she is Siberian Husky, not Pomsky.

I’m super thankful for my friend Liina, who joined us this beautiful sunny day and now we have so many beautiful photos together. Unfortunately, my husband was working this day, so no family photos yet. It’s not my usual blog post with fashion poses, so let me know what you think in the comments below! If you also have questions about Coco, I will answer these as well!

Rotermann Food Street

Rotermann Food Street

This month, I already wrote a blog post about my training habits, so I thought that I may write once again something other than fashion. Let me know in the comments below if you would like to see more lifestyle post in future. Maybe once or twice in a month?

So this blog post will be about food. Mainly I like to cook at home but some of you probably have seen on my Instagram Stories that I’ve been eating quite a lot outside this past week. I was asked to try out eight different restaurants and cafes in the Rotermann Food Street and it’s hard to say no to food as I’m a huge foodie. I was able to visit Taqueria, FLAMM Flammkuchen Bar, RØST and Pull last week and Ruby, Purée, Saku Gastro and TOA-Taste of Asia this week. And here are my experiences:

FLAMM Flammkuchen Bar

I ordered: FLAMM: NERO (7,9€) first one from the left

I can honestly say that this was my favorite place. I’m a huge fan of pizzas and I will tell you right away that this place does not serve any. They serve Flammkuchen – a German version of a delicious crispy thin crusty bread covered with for example crème fraîche, Parma ham, sage and olive cream. I’m not the biggest fan of olives but I’m a huge fan of Parma ham, so I needed to try FLAMM: NERO. If I’m being honest then NERO was my least favorite from these three. I went there together with Anna Elisabeth and Miramii M. and I have to say that my favorite flammkuchen was Miramii’s FLAMM: RIZO. PS! I have to mention that Flammkuchen service was the best. Our waitress was so lovely and she made this experience worth to visit this place in anytime soon!

Overall 9+ points!

Taqueria

Rotermann Food Street

I ordered: Pork Quesadillas with potatoes and salsa (8,50€)

I really like Mexican food, especially quesadillas and I didn’t have to disappoint in Taqueria. This portion was huge for a lunch and in my opinion, it’s more than enough for one person. Also, I liked that spicy dipping sauce which made these quesadillas juicy and delicious. I really enjoyed this cool atmosphere and I would love to go there again some Friday night with my friends to take some Margaritas and maybe try some tacos. (Sorry for that foggy iPhone photo, somehow my camera photos got deleted 🙁 )

Overall good 8 points! (Little bit too dark place for a lunch time, so not a place for Instagrammers :D)

RØST

I ordered: green tea, cinnamon roll (the other two are for Anna and Maarja) and pastel de nata (to-go for my husband)

First of all, I have to say that I really like RØST interior design. It’s so urban with the touch of Scandinavian vibe. I will definitely go there some Saturday morning with my hubby to enjoy these delicious and oh so soft cinnamon or cardamon rolls. Or if I need a lovely place where to work on my computer, it’s also a right place to be. The only minus is that they have a super small tea collection but if you drink coffee, like most of the people, it’s worth of visit! PS! Dogs are allowed in RØST and every time I have seen many cute dogs in there.

Overall 9 points!

Restoran PULL

I ordered: Pull’s burger with pulled pork(11€), side-dish Pull’s pan-fried potatoes (3€)
Sander ordered: Beef cheek (12€), side-dish Health bomb (3€)

Before we went there I have heard many good words about this meat place. And I didn’t have to disappoint in my burger. It’s super moist and this pulled pork was done with perfection. I have to say that if you’re not that hungry or with the huge appetite then these side-dishes are not needed. Both of our dishes were big enough so unfortunately, we could finish our side-dishes but I really liked these tasty pan-fried potatoes. Sander ordered the beef cheek but both of us have to say that this meat was really plain. It’s nicely cooked but we expected more flavors from beef. Maybe it’s just we’ve had the best pork cheek in Sfäär a few years ago and nothing has ever been that delicious.

Overall 8 points!

Ruby

I ordered: Roast-beef salad (7,6€)

It’s a quite simple salad and bagel cafe where you can sit inside but also outside and enjoy this cozy chilly autumn weather. I took a roast beef salad with buckwheat, pomegranate arils, red cabbage, and eggplants. My salad was good but for a lunch time, this place is too expensive for me and I didn’t get any “wow”-effect.

Overall 7 points!

Purée

I ordered: Green smoothie “Roheline Unistus” (big 4,9€), morning porridge (2€), sandwich (1,50€), 2x banana bread (2 x 0,80€)

Both, my porridge and smoothie, were huge. I’m not a very good eater in the morning time so it’s quite hard for me to finish my porridge. I took my avocado sandwich and banana bread to go and I really like that they ask if you want to have a takeaway bag or not. I love that conscious thinking. I’ll come back next time for a breakfast or brunch and I would love to try their soups and salads for the lunch. PS! Purée has reasonable prices and I’m definitely recommending this place if you need a nice and healthy place to eat!

Overall 9 points!

Saku Gastro

I ordered: Pan-fried cod with broccolini, buttery potato purèe, and tarragon veolutè

I really enjoyed this dish. Pan-fried cod was nicely cooked, crispy outside and soft inside. Some people, like my mother, would say that the sauce was little too salty but I love little bit saltier dishes than normally others would prefer. I would definitely take my father for a dinner in there because he is such fan of Saku beers. PS! My waitress was super lovely. She even worried if I’m cold sitting outside.

Overall 9 points!

TOA – Taste of Asia

Rotermann Food Street

I ordered: Yellow Thai Curry with basmati rice (8€+1,5€) Takeaway

Fun fact for you: I started to love Thai curry in India and since then I like to try different curries in Asian restaurants. This Yellow curry had enough spices for me but I was in a hurry to notice that I should have order chicken as an extra topping (3€). So I was a little bit disappointed when I got home and started to eat it with my hubby. No meat for us this dinner! Plus point for TOA: Takeaway only took 7-10 minutes and they put the whole set of cutlery with my order.

Overall 7 points! (A little bit too expensive when you have to buy chicken as an extra topping.)

I really hope that you got some good ideas where would you like to eat outside! 😉
