Fresh Fashion
I was invited to see spring/summer ’15 fashion show ‘Fresh Fashion‘ at last wednesday (28.01). It took place at Baltika’s Moelava and it was my first time there. Nice fresh red tulips were placed in the middle of the runway and I felt myself already somewhere else than in cold snowy Tallinn. They welcomed us with nice fresh Blender smoothie and I was ready to enjoy the show in first row together with other fashion bloggers.
A quite fun surprise for audience was that the show started with two funny actresses Katariina Tamm and Piret Krumm making fun about fashion. They were hilarious but their actining seemd bit too much overstrained. Still I enjoyed it, because there were something new that fashion show.
Monton keyword was playful stripe what we can see in all different sizes, directions and colour combos. I did like the new cherry print, but I think for me this sailor theme is already seen and done too many times. But I did like that they were using bright grass-green colour and sheer stripes at dresses. These designs were something new and not so many times seen before. Also 5-points that they were ending the show with something truly fashionable and fresh – with beautiful oversized floral coat and a-line knee-lenght skirt.
Bastion was again so uninspiring for me. I don’t see myself wearing so many girly things together. Light colours, frills, butterflies and flowers is too much for my eye. Feeling was right for summer time, but nothing exciting and new. Plus points for black&white combination what saved this collection.
Blue Inc London is a British men’s line and it’s always so fresh and funky. And this time I loved the show even more then at last summer! It’s so fashion forward and it reminded me world class runway show. They asked our talented friend, artist Tuuli Rand and her band Funkifize on the stage to perform ‘Uptown Funk’ together with models who were eating fruits&veggies. This was so much fun to watch! If you don’t believe, see it yourself!
After this fun and youthful show it was quite hard to watch office wear and suits like Mosaic and Baltman has in their lines. Mosaic has some good outfits what I would like to wear and I was happy to see in Baltman show so many bright colours.
And last but not least, my favourite Ivo Nikkolo. Like all shows, I didn’t had to disappoint this time either. All minimalistic cuts and styling was also the best one in all of these shows. Sneakers and 2 crossbody bags with loose clothes looked like these models has jump in from London. It looked that they didn’t try so hard to please Estonian market and looked more current outside fashion. And it’s a good thing, so keep doing what you are doing because you’re on right track!
Thank you for reading and watching my videos! Let me know what do you think about Baltika’s ‘Fresh Fashion’!
