The iconic interiors brand Morris & Co has collaborated with H&M and created a collection that will keep your wardrobe in bloom throughout autumn and winter. I had an amazing opportunity to wear this gorgeous Pimpernel print set in London Fashion Week and I was so surprised that so many people came to say “Hi” to me and also asked that is this really William Morris collection that I’m wearing. Then, on the other hand, it’s the most iconic British interior brand and the Morris & Co prints are some of the most recognized and loved around the world. One guy even told me that he has similar print curtains in his living room and one woman wanted a picture with me because she thought that I must be a famous person to wear it that early.
“At H&M we continuously look at collaboration ideas as we strive to give our customers new and exciting experiences,” Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M design director, told Vogue ahead of the October 4 collection launch. “William Morris once said, ‘I do not want art for a few, any more than education for a few, or freedom for a few’. This hit home for us and is exactly what we are all about.”
The collection is full of autumn must-haves, with a wide range of tailored coats, jackets and trousers, romantic dresses and blouses, knitwear and coordinated separates. The printed pieces in the collection – which feature Morris & Co’s masterpieces Love is Enough, Lily Leaf, Marigold, and Pimpernel – are made in wool blends, velvet, and fluid fabrics, and include on-trend details like tie-necks, voluminous sleeves, knife pleats, and ruffles.
