My first thoughts about Bordeaux

I’m so thankful to Iti that she invited me to visit Bordeaux, a beautiful city in Southern France, with her. We were there 5 days and it’s more than enough to visit all the main tourist places and discover cities close by. We rented an AirBnB apartment near the city centre (four tram stops from Victoire) and we were super lucky to have a calm neighbourhood and super cozy apartment. Unfortunately, the wifi was terrible and it’s super hot in there, but we found perfect solutions for these flaws as well (super thankful for our Estonian phone providers). Our mission was to see many beautiful places in Bordeaux, take million photos and have a lot of fun, and I would say that we nailed it!

If you’re wondering how did we get to Bordeaux, then actually from Riga, there is a direct flight operated by AirBaltic. It’s one of the cosiest flights ever and I have to mention that they have the sweetest crew on board. One of the steward was even so kind that he told me after our long nap that he didn’t wanted to wake so beautiful sleepers up from our beauty nap, how cute you can be. Anyway, moving on with my story, from the Bordeaux Airport we took a 1+ bus to the City Centre and it only cost us 1,60€/per person. Also, if you know that you will need to take a lot of tram or bus rides, then I recommend you to buy a day or 7 day card (13,40€) right away. Google map helped us a lot so we always knew what tram or bus to take and which station.

If you would like to know what tourist attractions are worth to see, then I recommend you to see Place de la Bourse (definitely see it at the night time too), La Grosse Cloche, Porte Cailhau was my favorite sightseeing, Esplanade des Quinconces, Bordeaux Cathedral, Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux, Place de la Victoire and Rue Sainte-Catherine, which is the longest pedestrianised shopping street in Europe. We also went for a day trip to Arcachon, a seaside resort town in southwest France that’s known for oyster harvesting.

If you have some questions for us from our trip, then just comment below and I’ll answer all to your questions. Lets now all enjoy these amazing photos by my gorgeous and talented Iti!
